Aim for the face.
Head shots under pressure are no joke, there is a reason center mass is taught, a head shot like that is more often getting lucky, very easy to miss given the adrenalin and nerves.
That being said I kind of agree but still, not an easy thing to do under that kind of threat.
I’d be afraid the bullet could ricochet off the skull.
Eh, lot of bone there. Just over the right shoulder if you can get a shot might be better, assuming that is an option. I really don’t know. I’ve only shot a nuisance bear once, and that was with a fairly powerful rifle, and I was told to only take a heart shot by the rangers due to being in a neighborhood.
Better be for the eye to the brain a bears skull has a lot of bone to it.
