Ronald Reagan set the standard for dealing with Israeli excess in 1982. It involved no hatred of Israel just hatred of excessive violence.
Does calling Prime Minister Menachem Begin and telling him to stop the “Holocaust” as Reagan called it constitute Antisemitism?
I'm sure the Mark Levins of the time accused Reagan of Anti-Semitism as well. Who was it that said that an Anti-Semite used to be someone who hated Jews, whereas nowadays, an "Anti-Semite" is anyone that some Jew hates?
In any case, I'm glad Mark Levin is showing his true colors. He was a rabid anti-Trumper in 2015-16 and opportunistically changed his tune when he saw that Trump was pro-Israel. Now that Trump is still pro-Israel but not unconditionally so (i.e. he's willing to tell a spoiled child that enough is enough), Levin's back to his old form.
A number of conservative senators, including Jesse Helms, threatened to cut off aid and even sever diplomatic relations with Israel at the time for the same reasons. As with Reagan, it had nothing to do with "anti-Semitism" and everything to do with telling a recipient of US aid and support that there are limits to that aid and support.

Many of the neocons who obsessed over it still wanted to stay in Reagan's good graces, so rather than blaming him directly, they would say that the President was manipulated into paying his respects at Bitberg by the "evil" Pat Buchanan.
Of course, saying that is even more insulting towards Reagan, as it implies that he was just a mindless puppet manipulated by his handlers. It never occurred to them that Reagan just felt that honoring the war dead of a former enemy turned ally was the decent thing to do.
AOC is pro Israel? Who knew.
