Between the first and third of July 1863, more than 23,000 soldiers of the Union Army would be killed in the Battle of Gettysburg.

History guy needs to check his sources on the KIA figures for this battle. He's usually accurate, but this is way off.

Looks like he confused casualties with KIA.
