I agree. The current welfare system pays more when the father is NOT present. Here’s an idea: make the benefits 20% LESS when the father is not present. For that amount of money, the mother will seek out the father and make him part of the family. Being a father is easy, being a parent isn’t...but it’s the responsible thing to do. Yeah, I know I may as well be talking to a fencepost, but maybe a few would own up to their responsibilities.
