As someone who has spent a little time in Africa, I can assure you, they have absolutely no idea what they are in for if they do it… I advise them all to please do so… you will learn right quick a lot of things.
I would suggest that if anyone honestly seeks to improve themselves by moving to Africa, then let them go, but leaving it possible for them to return to the USA. I think this might be the best answer for those who say they want to move.
As someone who has spent a long time in Africa, I agree with you. In large parts this is a traditional society with many conservative leanings. A local Sociologist who visited the States felt the African-American culture was too rough, but was fascinated by the native American culture.
People who are tolerant might have a better chance of fitting in.
