As a Trump supporter, not a Trump WORSHIPPER, this was an incredibly stupid thing to say, no matter the context. If I were a Democrat candidate, I’d be using this in campaign ads. It makes Trump sound like he doesn’t care about the Average Joe. In an age of sound bites, you just can’t say things like this. Sheesh.

It’s transient and temporary. It’s Trump’s fault. The economy is great whether you think it is or not.
The rats lost Congress in 2022 and then lost it all in 2024.
Voters didn’t buy it. You think now they’re going to buy it?
Being a principled conservative - I believe in personal responsibility and I do likewise believe it is not the government’s job to solve people’s personal problems.
But the one consistent thing in history? That’s just a terrible, terrible message.... and voters - especially the squishy middle who decide things - won’t buy it. They never have and they never will.
