It should be. As mentioned in the article look at the cost to the airlines, airport, government agencies to deal with. Plus it’s fraud. But, ya, felony level.

but aside from that...a fake boarding pass is a felony? Yes. As is fake checks, fake IDs, fake grocery coupons, etc. If your attempting to defraud someone, it’s a felony!
