I was assigned as a UN Truce Supervisor in the Sinai in 1988-9. From the moment I arrived in Israel and continuously after, all of the UN personnel showed absolute bias/hatred against the Israelis.

I was very nearly sent back early because I had a friend - a Command and Staff College classmate - who was an active duty member of the IDF - and one of my fellow UN officers claimed that I was an "Israeli spy".

Besides their implacable hatred of the Israelis, the UN headquarters in Cairo and Jerusalem wasted huge amounts of money through wastefulness and stupidity - most of the staff were either Norwegians/Swedes or some silly little county like Trinidad.
