Mel Gibson's cancer cure claim linked to ivermectin surge, experts warn

A peer-reviewed study in JAMA Network Open found that US ivermectin prescriptions jumped 97% in the six months after Mel Gibson told Joe Rogan’s podcast audience that the drug, combined with fenbendazole, cured three friends’ stage 4 cancers. Researchers analysed health records from more than 68 million patients across 67 health systems. Prescribing rates rose 2.5-fold among cancer patients, with white patients, men, and those in the southern US showing the largest increases.

"'When prescribing for an unproven cancer treatment more than doubles after a single podcast, especially among men and people in the South, it raises a concern that patients may be skipping or delaying treatments we know work in favor of something that hasn't been proven to help them.'"

Experts warn there is no clinical trial evidence that ivermectin or fenbendazole can safely or effectively treat cancer in humans. While some lab and animal studies suggest possible anti-cancer activity, the doses needed could be toxic and may interfere with chemotherapy or immunotherapy. Doctors fear patients may skip or delay proven treatments, undermining survival chances and increasing health risks.

Gibson’s January 2025 appearance on 'The Joe Rogan Experience' reached an audience of over 60 million views in one month, amplifying his unverified claims. Researchers and clinicians say celebrity endorsements can quickly sway patient decisions, especially among those seeking hope outside conventional medicine. The study underscores how influential media moments can rapidly alter prescribing patterns nationwide.

It depends on the type of cancer. Some forms of cancer are viral.

Some are caused by the clot shot. A friend of mine is going through it with bladder cancer. Fifth operation.

Every person trying this is a sample of one.

I have made skin cancers peel off my body, with pictures. These disappeared due to supplements that were tested on animals.

My husband’s been using it since last fall, and certainly not because of anything Mel Gibson said.

We have noticed it’s been harder to get.

“Experts warn there is no clinical trial evidence that ivermectin or fenbendazole can safely or effectively treat cancer in humans.” Why not?

Because they don't do trials on things that might actually work, because pharma profits. Then they point and say, "See? No trials!"

I wonder if it is even possible for me to despise these people more than I already do.

Sure it is. The state of California has now made it effectively illegal for out-of-state agriculture/cattle suppliers to ship anything with Ivermectin in it into the state. This means you can't order Ivermectin stuff for your livestock from out of state if you live in California. Why would they do that? I think we all know.

You can search for these science links yourself. Here’s my summary.

Cancer does not have a genetic cause. Cancer’s cause is metabolic. Cancer’s genetic changes are effects. Cells randomly mutate and become cancer cells when they lose the energy required to provide their specific functions.

Normally cells produce energy through oxidative phosphorylation. Cancer doesn’t produce energy, it produces more cancer. Cancer does this through aerobic glycolysis.

Ivermectin works against parasites by destroying their oxidative phosphorylation ability. Ivermectin has no ability to work against cancer’s aerobic glycolysis. You are far better off removing fructose (anything which tastes sweet including fruit), as fructose destroys oxidative phosphorylation in favor of aerobic glycolysis.

It would really be that simple except that you are completely addicted to fructose (or you would not have cancer). Stop ingesting fructose.

How does it do on toe nail fungus? It is a parasitic infection.

I think IVM is good for what ails you.

No more fungus but side affects are to be considered.

“Cancer does not have a genetic cause.”

If their is a family history best to do screening.

Fructose is metabolized by the liver. Very little gets into the blood,
~~~~~
1. How does fructose get into the liver?
Answer: Fructose grows gut bacteria which cause leaky intestinal walls via zonulin response.
2. From Brave’s AI:
~~~~~
Fructose contributes to cancer growth through both direct metabolic rewiring and indirect nutrient supply mechanisms.

Direct Metabolic Effects: Fructose serves as an alternative energy source for cancer cells, particularly in hypoxic environments where glucose is limited. It promotes the Warburg effect (aerobic glycolysis), enhances nucleic acid and lipid synthesis via the pentose phosphate pathway, and activates oncogenic mTORC1 signaling. High expression of fructose transporters like GLUT5 and metabolic enzymes like fructokinase (KHK) is strongly associated with high malignancy and poor prognosis in aggressive cancers such as pancreatic, liver, and triple-negative breast cancer.

Indirect Lipid Supply: Recent research indicates that many cancer cells cannot metabolize fructose directly due to a lack of essential enzymes. Instead, the liver converts dietary fructose into lipids (such as lysophosphatidylcholines). These lipids circulate in the bloodstream and are absorbed by tumor cells, providing crucial building blocks for cellular membrane biosynthesis and fueling rapid tumor proliferation in models of melanoma, breast, and cervical cancer. Additionally, fructose metabolism increases uric acid and lactate production, which can further stimulate cell proliferation and suppress anti-tumor immune responses.
~~~~~
And.....
~~~~~
...Cleavage: Aldolase B cleaves fructose-1-phosphate into two three-carbon sugars: dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) and glyceraldehyde.

Conversion: These intermediates are converted into glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate (G3P), entering the glycolytic pathway...
~~~~~
Aldehydes are toxic, and require special respiration which, in the case of fructose, produce JNK-1 and JNK-2 carcinogens.
Add that roughly 20 percent of ingested fructose winds up as pyruvate which cancer uses to feed and protect itself.
If I had stage four cancer and someone credibly argued that eating aluminum foil might cure it I’d give it a go.
Trump should make ivermectin or fenbendazole available in all 50 states.
