We have many military facilities in California, especially Naval and Marine facilities…where do you move them to?
It would be extremely difficult to expel California from the Union for the very reason you mentioned. We may have the best Navy in the world, but the loss of California, Oregon, and Washington, the latter two states being only somewhat less communist than California, would weaken our ability to project power in the Pacific Ocean.
