Olivia Plath, divorced and in therapy, says she never regretted her decision.

Maybe she’ll eventually work her way out of the darkness, but she could spiral the other way.

The primary result of the sexual revolution was to persuade many young women to make themselves sexually available to the skirt chasing men, with the abortion license as a final safety point. While the responsible, commitment, marriage and family oriented young men are treated as chumps and losers. The women especially turn to alcohol, drugs and therapy trying to figure out what has gone wrong.

As it is working out, making children disposable turns out to make partners interchangeable and disposable, and ultimately this reflects young women who have been trained not to value themselves highly. If they consent to being treated as toys, they will be treated as disposable toys.

And then they’ll get older .... Well, their cats will still like them.

The more famous Plath, Sylvia, sure did. I had to read "The Bell Jar" in high school. The whole book was self-indulgent steam-of consciousness garble. I am not sure why it became famous. The poor woman was likely mentally ill, but I did not find her to be brilliant.

Very good post as so concise. Allow me to complete it.

At that point, isolated and feeling alone (as they will be) it is easier to manipulate them emotionally to political ends.

This was the intent back in 1910, in the days when Benjamin Kidd first published the essence of this plan in his book, "The Science of Power" with his emphasis upon manipulation of women and children as means of demographic and therefore democratic control.

Eventually the turn to it?

Roughly 1/4 American women and firmly 1/4 American women over 60 are on antidepressants

What is that?

“Approximately 15% to over 20% of adult American women (about 19 to 25 million individuals) currently take prescription antidepressants. Data from the CDC shows that women are more than twice as likely to be prescribed these medications as men.Rates vary significantly across demographics:By Age: Usage tends to increase as women get older. Roughly 25% of women over age 60 take antidepressants, making it the highest usage group”

I know my mink coat wearing, church-going grandmothers, great aunts and the neighbor ladies weren’t on antidepressants. They weren’t pulling their faces back and saline pumping their lips, distorting their expressions

They shared wisdom and serenity. They had husbands or solid careers

They had never been play toys for overgrown boys and could advise us on avoiding that racket

They counseled their executive husbands then the next generation on college choices, professional- and moral- decisions

My peers come in to family functions sporting new faces, 125 lb ozempic bodies bad life advice

They’re all pharmaceutical dependent

What’s the life plan?

Where’s the guidance?

How many are post abortive? Who knows. They don’t talk about it. Common opinion is there’s nothing wrong with abortion, but in the 5o years since it’s been legal, no one talks about it.

Too bad that girls of 16, 18, 19 didn’t listen to the voice inside- I could get pregnant. This guy wouldn’t care. How about no. I’m busy.

And the mother in this case the martini generation with their, ‘where was birth control when I was having all these kids’. In front of their kids. Witches.

What a disaster
