In 1959, the Clutter family was murdered in Kansas, Truman Capote later wrote the book “In Cold Blood”. I was a young child in the country, near a small village. The country was stunned with these murders, in the news for weeks and weeks afterwards. It prompted my dad to put locks on our doors, and more outdoor security lights. Families were on guard for months.
Today, the murders wouldn’t even be picked up by the Associated Press.
