I seem to remember that the CDC used to publish the data yearly on the percentages of the population that caught Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) and the last published figures showed 82% had male on male sex. The same wonderful folks who bought us AIDS and Monkey Pox and antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea and so any others.

The "child-bearing age women" were most likely infected by husbands/boyfriends who go both ways.
