As a long-time racing fan, going back to the beginnings of NASCAR, I more or less worship all the old-time drivers...
However, Rowdy became, for me, the closest to those old-timers in both talent, guts, and skills...
He was, IMHO, a throw-back to the days of “real” racing...
It could be that his dismal record of the past few years was due to the battle that he finally lost...

Agreed. Kyle wasn’t Jr, but he drove like Sr.
I agree. I gave up on NASCAR when they went to the time outs, but Kyle had become my favorite “new school” driver. An extremely talented driver. It’s just shocking this all happened.
