The employers of those illegals have probably gotten used to paying less money for workers. The wages for construction jobs have been depressed while the contractors have cleaned up.

Not sure on that but the jobs where my son on the east coast did and my friend here along with my son are union covered. So the cost is based upon time in the job (rating) and the work required. Framing, roofing, drywall is repetition and can be done by most of the people on the list if they have a strong back. Masonry is a little more involved and requires more advance experience for bridges and buildings. That’s where the money is because that work takes so much time to build and require more of a trade than just a strong back.
