This is how I feel and I worry that inflation and high gas prices will keep Republicans home on the mid terms and the radicals on the left will takeover states and federal elections.
I predict we’ll be controlled by communists. Sadly I’m more concerned about the state. PA is hanging by a thread
“PA is hanging by a thread”
That thread is nominal GOP control of the PA state Senate, which is in serious jeopardy in November.
Garrity has zero chance of beating Shapiro and her uninspiring presence at the top of the ballot will likely depress GOP turnout — which already was likely to be way lower than Rat turnout (a la 2018).
Rats could *easily* pick up 4 U.S. House seats (CD-1, CD-7, CD-8, CD-10).
They already control the executive and judicial branches of Pennsylvania, with Republicans coming up very small in the disastrous 2025 Supreme Court elections.
They already control the state House — by 1 vote (102-101) — and nobody should be the least bit surprised if that margin expands this year.
Republicans need to hold the state Senate at any cost, if there even IS “any cost” that would help.
The GOP holds a 28-22 advantage there currently, which means Rats need 3 seats to gain control (Dem LG breaking any ties) and 4 to win outright.
There are 4 GOP-held seats which could easily flip in November:
SD-6 (Farry) is in great danger. D+2 district.
SD-16 (Coleman), R+2 district, swamped in even the smallest “blue” wave.
SD-24 (Pennycuick), D+1 district.
SD-40 (Brown), D+1 district.
Not ALL other GOP districts are completely safe either.
2026 is hardly the year for Republicans to think they can hold marginal districts, or pick up marginal Democrat-held districts in what is at least a D+5 environment as things stand now.
