Step 1: Clearly identify the problem. And declare war.
That’s something FDR did after Pearl Harbor.
And something W refused to do.
Step 2: Identify and shut down every mosque in the US that has even the smallest whiff of radicalism. Deport the leadership.
Just like how FDR shut down the German-American Bund.
Step 3: Punish al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
Make the rubble bounce. And quietly put Saudi Arabia on notice.
None of that ridiculous “nation-building” crap.
Just like how FDR shut down the German-American Bund.
And interned the Japanese-Americans.
FDR wasn’t dealing with a religion or with radicalism. He was dealing with a nation states, not proxies.
Nothing FDR did would apply to a belief system that was or could be adopted by Americans.
FDR was ineffective against the biggest threat to the country of that time and our current time communism, and if anything he even helped it along.
