ufo reports(blue book) were cover stories to not expose crashed projects, metal foil shreds from weather from mission balloons and other high technology where the public and our enemy spies should not have info on until the project is disclosed. It also makes a magnificent Squirrel! when real mysterious tech is being tested.
What’s the point of all that amazing tech if they never use it, except to scare the womenfolk and horses? Seems to me like it would have been real handy in Korea, Viet Nam, etc etc
