Very good analysis. We and Israel remain in control of the airspace over Iran. We have the power to favor any faction which shows itself capable of taking control of Iran.
The possibility of the Balkanization of Iran remains open. Iran has several groups which would like to form their own countries, the foremost of which are the Kurds.
An emerging Kurdistan, allied to the USA, might be a useful play.
I have heard that the Iranian Kurds are not as fanatical as the Iraqi Kurds, so they might make good partners for stabilization. The dominant group in Iran are the Persians who are not reported to be fanatics either. Many of the IRGC are reported to be of Arabic background and they are not liked by the Kurds or Persians. That could make defeating the IRGC easier if the Kurds and Persians are armed.
