Claudine Longet, who has died aged 84, was an actress and chanteuse who became one of the few French female artists to have sold significant numbers of records in the US. But unlike compatriots such as Edith Piaf and Françoise Hardy, she was never acclaimed as a major figure in global popular music: her hits were anodyne cover versions of songs such as the Beatles’ Here There and Everywhere and Good Day Sunshine.
She played the female lead, opposite Peter Sellers, in Blake Edwards’s 1968 film The Party, but she was best known for her appearances on the weekly television show hosted by her husband, Andy Williams. She was, in Williams’s words, “a beautiful, athletic, slender, petite brunette with large doe eyes”.
From her spouse’s side, she radiated a mixture of glamour and wholesome domesticity. On the set of Williams’s famous Christmas specials, she would cast protective glances towards the couple’s young children as they unwrapped parcels under the studio tree.

One of SNL’s best.

Love Is Blue (L'amour Est Bleu) · Claudine Longet
And, yes, I also crushed on her when I was a lad. May she rest in peace.
I remember her best for “Love Is Blue” before Andy Williams performed it
It wasn't Karens! Claudine Longet's lawyer, and Andy Williams lawyer separately threatened SNL, so they had Don Pardo read a statement the following week.
Such a good movie.

This is weird. I took a 2 hour driving trip today to do some shopping. On the way out and back, I was listening to a classic music collection in my car. Andy Williams was among the singers in the collection. I recollected that he’d been married to Claudine Longet, and I wondered if she was still alive. I was going to do an online search for her when I got home, but forgot...until now.
She was great except when she was killing people. 😉
Not the most famous actress to kill her lover.
As a conspiracy theorist, I’m not buying that Lana Turner’s fourteen year old daughter killed Mickey Cohen thug Johnny Stompanato.
No one is better than selling fiction as the truth than Hollywood.

When Punk was cool.
I still miss Spider. Great skier!
Great scene here from The Party....how could any scene with Peter Sellers not be great?
.
If that's true then that "Luger knock-off" didn't copy the safety mechanism very well because it's a solid blocking mechanism in a real Luger (P-08) that's almost impossible to fail.
I don't get the greasy firing mechanism either. Shouldn't be any grease in a gun just a light oil. In any case lubrication is to insure that parts move freely and do what they're supposed to do. If there really was grease on the "firing mechanism" it might prevent it from working (doubtful) and no pew pew would occur but it sure wouldn't make it work better than it is supposed to. That would nonsense.
Sounds like the judge let the defense bring in a liar as their firearms expert and the jury bought his BS.

How did I not have the Adverts in my album collection? That was good!
Here’s another in the same vein. The Judy’s - How’s Gary?
Also appeared in an episode of "Hogan's Heroes."
Regards,
Claudine was quite the schemer. She engineered a meeting with Andy pretending she was having late night car trouble at the exact spot she knew he would be driving by and would stop to offer assistance. She was 18 and he was 32. They married on December 15, 1961, and divorced in January 1975.
Williams, stood by her and paid for her murder trial even though they were divorced.
Then Claudine struck again. After the trial, her lawyer divorced his wife and married Claudine.
It was known she was miffed b/c Spider told her to get out of his house .....
a practiced playboy, he wasnt keen on living with her and her three children.
