The case was unsolved for a year before the charges were brought. The son who he was to have murdred was being prosecuted for the death of a teenager at the time. What was his motive? Sounds like the family might have had enemies.
The family had lots of enemies before and even more after the son’s deadly boating accident. The entire family was disliked. We live in the low country and the one thing I have heard, over and over, is that Alex Murdaugh adored his sons and wife. I have a hard time believing he blew his son’s head off at close range. The prosecutions theory was he did it to get sympathy for his financial crimes, which is absurd. Also, two different guns which were never found? Why two guns, possibly two shooters?
