Bexar County Judge Rosie Speedlin-Gonzalez, the county’s first openly LGBT judge, has resigned and accepted a LIFETIME BAN from the bench.
This comes after serious misconduct complaints, most notably the December 2024 incident where she had a defense attorney handcuffed mid-hearing.
Criminal charges were dropped in exchange for the permanent disqualification.

No. It is the sui generis equivalent of a disbarment for judges, and she would be a fool to try and revive her 'legal career' somewhere else. Non-starter.
She would have fought the case but they dangled her six-figure pension, so she kept that and took the plea. Nothing new under the sun.
“This won’t hurt, did it?”
And straight to “The View” with her. Her presence there will make the others seem almost attractive.
Next Democrat nominee for Supreme Court.
I don’t think she was on the bench long enough to qualify for a pension.
