I guess killing 5000 Kurds in Halabja with sarin and mustard gas doesn't count as proof of WMDs...the Iraq war was approved due to Iraq denying and refusing WMD inspections... And btw WMDs were discovered in Iraq as well as Uranium...And we already knew the bulk were moved to Syria before the '03 attack. ISR filmed the convoys. Assad later used them on civilians in his civil war.I have to agree with Justa. We knew Hussein had them; we'd seen them used. We found the mass graves. We found buried nukes, now they were unusable because he'd hidden them in a way that destroyed their components, but he did have them. And I vividly remember Colin Powell saying in an interview (I think with Leslie Stahl) that the biological and chemical weapons were so small but so potent, the entire stockpile Hussein had could fit into a school classroom, or the back of two semi trucks. He also commented on trucks moving toward Syria that might contain them. He never said it again, which suggests to me that he spilled way too much info on TV and was probably told to STFU after that. But I remember that interview.
