Believe me, studs and cuff links are not the biggest problem with white tie. The rest of the outfit is. Tails etc.
Yes, tails can be a problem but you probably wouldn’t have tuxedos if you didn’t first have tails.
Years ago all men wore white tie and tails to events. In the 1880’s one man had his tailor remove the tails from his jacket. He wore it to the Autumn Ball in a town called Tuxedo Park, NY. Thus the ‘tuxedo’ was born. Gradually by the 1920’s black tie (semi-formal) became more popular and wearing white tie was only for special occasions. BTW people from Tuxedo Park don’t call the jacket a tux, they call it a dinner jacket.
