Unless you want to become drug-dependent, get another opinion or two. Try someone with a physical therapy degree rather than a pharmaceutical-oriented degree.
Avoiding narcotics is Job One. If their answer is "pills" my response will be "goodbye".
For over ten years I've been doing professional PT a couple times a month. Chiro once a month. Lots of exercise and stretching on my own.
Doing that stuff helps a lot. Sitting in front of computer for hours on end is the worst. Bad news for an IT guy.
If the docs can't figure out a way I'll go ahead and retire.
