Update on the USS Cleveland LCS31 - she left Cleveland yesterday late in the afternoon and is now in Lake Ontario, having slowly worked her way up the Welland Canal through a series of 7 locks. I managed to snap a photo of her Tuesday when I was in the area and wandered out to the old Coast Guard station near Wendy Park where I was out birding with a friend.
She's going to be a nice asset to the Navy, I hope.

That is a regular SCOTT airpack mask. They are all like that so you can cinch it down tight enough to keep air from escaping around the face seal. The airpack produces positive pressure so that if (when) your mask leaks, the pressure escapes and you don’t breathe in the contaminates in your surroundings.
