They are doing a test to see if a fire can be contained with no water... The reservoirs were empty during the Palisades fires last year - - - and they are still empty.
Gov Gavin 'the Hutt' Newsom says this calls for 'break the glass' measures to insure that Republicans don't attain office and ruin the state.
Some have said that the Ventura County firefighters are very good at this type of incident. They’ve had air tankers and multiple helicopters active all day dropping water and fire retardant. The Bard Lake reservoir not far from the Reagan Library is in use by the helicopters.
I started a thread on it....

“no water fire fighting” around LA? They actually had a system that more or less did that but they piddled it away. Back in the 60’s and 70’s they started terracing the hills north and east of LA. They bulldozed fire breaks wide enough to drive on thru all those brushy hillsides. I remember seeing some of them driving thru there at the time. But over the later years the pencil pushing meth heads wanted the money for free needles so they left out keeping the breaks clean.
Remember when Kobe Bryant’s chopper went down? Recover vehicles were able to get to the wreck quickly since he landed close to one of those old breaks. It was grown over but driveable. The brush has had a 40 year head start on the fire marshall.
But the breaks prevented a fire from getting a head start so very little , or no, effort was normally required to watch one die out. The place will burn until someone remembers what actually worked already.
