Sanford, 65, told The AP that he was shuttering his campaign, a decision inspired by his desire to focus on combating the national debt and deficit.

“I have a fair size circle of friends and folks with whom I have some degree of influence and contacts,” Sanford told the AP, also noting that, with his first grandchild on the way, he realized as he mounted this campaign that he wanted to be able to spend more time WITH HIS FAMILY.

What a joke! Surprised his family will have anything to do with him. He won his house seat back, turned rino and got thrown out on his ear in the 2018 primary to a woman named Arrington. She promptly lost-just barely-democrat wave. 2 years later Nancy Mace reclaimed the seat for us where it belongs. It’s a reminder that republicans can be quite stupid.

That “more time with the family” gig is getting old. That’s why we can’t find anyone to negotiate with in Iran. All the second in commands decide to retire and spend more time with the family when the number 1 guy gets dusted.
