Badenoch: 'I was there yesterday and you could feel the fear on the streets'

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch tells BBC Radio London's Eddie Nestor: "The community don't think that they [the government] are doing enough. I was there yesterday and you could feel the fear that was on the streets."

Earlier, the Home Office confirmed it was investing a further £25m in extra policing and security for Jewish communities.

On the funding, Badenoch says: "So we do need to see an increased police presence. The government has said it's giving money - I don't know exactly what the money is for, I don't know if that money is enough.

"But I do know that Shomrim, that community group, say that they have never had any money from government. They are having to look after themselves."

She says it was "very lucky" that police officers were close to Wednesday's attack.

I like Kemi Badenoch. She says the right things. But she has not squarely addressed the fact that for 12 years before Starmer came into office, the “Conservative” government allowed these radical migrants to come to the UK and fester. The Conservative government did nothing to stop the radicalization. The Conservative government was part of the problem. That slate will not be wiped clean because Kemi talks a good game.

I just meant when we disagree it is often loudly and that’s a shame it gets like that

FYI, this is the first thread of yours I can remember that wasn't divisive and ill advised. It would be great if you could continue that.

Until most of your threads are positive, furthering and helping the full blown resurgence of America and its basic MAGA miracle of throwing off leftist shackles and becoming the country it once was......until then, every time I see you posting divisive threads, I'll loudly, and proudly point out what you are doing.

If you actually change, I'll encourage what you're doing just as loud.

There is sentiment in England that the wars are the basis for this hate and thus the responsibility ultimately lies with the US and Israel.

I’m trying my best because no one likes to be condemned so widely and publicly however I’m following Rep. Massie’s election and he’s not popular here sadly. It’s literally in a few weeks time and is the most closely watched and expensive congressional primary in US history.

After that is out the way I dont see many issues on the horizon. It is your semi-quincentennial which is a pretty big deal and I think that is a unifier more than anything

We disagree intensely on Massie.

Did you see his latest ad, pretending he's a MAGA supporter all the way? You know, and almost everyone else here knows that's a false claim. He's the one claiming Trump is an Epstein guy over all evidence. Plus he's been vocal with the democrats who lie about it. Plus he's been at loggerheads almost daily for a year with Trump and his agenda.

He's seeming pretty desperate with that one.

We do and im afraid it might trip me up in the coming weeks as focus will turn to it (a bitter and expensive campaign in Kentucky after all) but as I said no one likes to be condemned or labelled a paid leftist troll (one of the worst insults you can throw around). Mud sticks and I dont like that accusation at all
