This is the discovery of two men who were trying to escape from the city under the eruption of Asuvius. One of them was trying to cover his head with a mortar and a terra cotta vase.

We have proposed for the first time a scientific reconstruction together with the University of Padua using artificial intelligence. I believe this is a tool that will become increasingly important in the future, not only to deal with the vast amount of data emerging at Pompei and other sites to protect such fragile and extensive heritage like the city of Pompei, but also to present this complex and rich heritage to an increasingly diverse audience.

Well, that was certainly an in-depth, comprehensive and informative video...all 59 seconds of it.

I like that "diversity" was snuck in at the end. How 21st century of them!

Have you noticed how you can find "diversity" everywhere these days? Why, just a few days ago, I was hiking around the Charleston Slough in Mountain View, CA and came across this diversity. I searched high and low for some nearby "DEI," but it was elusive.

Funny Story: I visited Pompei last year, had a great tour guide. We were in the museum and he was pointing out a large engraving on the wall. He said that archaeologists had determined it was some sort of political poster. (Some of the letters were missing) but about half way down was an “M” and an “P” and then some blurred letters.

He then proceeded to say, archaeologists recently decoded the letters “M P G A”; “Make Pompei Great Again” - I was the only tourist who burst out laughing - the rest appeared to be angry libs.

PS - Tour guide got a BIG tip from me
