Wow! I’ll say this, it’s refreshing to see the Agent be forthcoming on how it totally screwed the pooch. You’ll never get a human Agent to be that truthful.

The problem is the programmers. They thought they were God-like, leaped ahead thrilled at possibilities w/o enough time spent on looking for ways things could go wrong and installing speed bumps. That is a common programmer failure. Imagine how much worse for constructs that have the speed & power of AI than for programs written for people. Rather than leaving everything to a construct that was programmed by humans and therefor flawed like each of us they should have channeled Asimov and created inviolate barriers blocking inimical actions. That would have potentially slowed the process, hobbled the beast but in the real world humans need to retain oversight and control over AI even if it’s less fun.
