My favorite childhood memories are from Fontaine Ferry Park that was in Louisville's West End. That's where the blacks lived yet, Fontaine Ferry did not allow blacks.

Then, in 1960, they desegregated to keep up with the times. Blacks flooded in, started strong arm robbing patrons, getting into gang fights, stealing, etc. Fontaine Ferry was forced to cease operations in 1963.

We knew back then what we're up against, and times have only gotten worse.

*waves from just south of Louisville, KY* Hey neighbor. Dunno if you've ever been in Caufield's Novelty downtown but they have a couple of the Fontaine Ferry animatronics on display. Also, you hear about the chaos on the Waterfront this past weekend? Yahoo News - 2 teens released from police custody after fights at Louisville festival Local news has been calling it something along the lines of "large groups of juveniles" Uh huh. They announced I think it was Mon the festival was gonna close 1 hr early every day this week, I know I'm not the only one that thought, 'Oh so the fights will start an hr early? Gotcha'
