This might be an infiltration to influence the primaries rather than a genuine switch. I mean, so many at once? Are they in college towns?

Same as what I was thinking. I believe voters normally have less interest in participating in mid-term elections. DemRATs might be motivated to participate in Republican primaries to help elect bad candidates or RINOs.
