Sympathy and respect are two different things."
Take care, and good luck...

Because we grew up doing life on our own. I feel like we are the oldest and middle siblings of a large family, and Millennials are the baby of the family who got all the attention and coddling we didn't. BUT... Millennials and Gen Z are both cooked, and we must have raised at least some of them. We didn't have helicopter parents, but a lot of us must have become helicopter parents.

What’s your problem, you can’t stand for Gen X to get a little attention?

You have NO idea who she is...
It is NOT your thread (I made this thread)...
You obviously want to make yourself known (as a disruptor)...
You haven't (yet) said you ever served...
WTF are you even here for?!
I probably knew BASIC/ASCII/Assembly/Machine language before you, when I was 10 years old...
Why are you trying to disrupt a simple thread about music and genX?
Are you another paid troll that is taking over FreeRepublic?

You are right about one thing, at least: I don’t belong on this thread. Bye.

ROTFLMAO!
Was that A.I. created?
So true...
Man, Wish I could go back to living on a ranch, away from all of the corruption.
Don’t think that is possible anymore, even in Texas.
(Sadly, it’s even worse... stuck in Hawaii. Too expensive to even think about escaping here.)

If you didn’t grow up during the Draft while there was a war going on, I have no sympathy for you.
Early Gen X will remember the Vietnam War, and the draft. "Draft beer, not people" was the protest. Some in Gen X had a parent who got drafted, or got married to avoid the draft. Some in Gen X might remember a teacher writing to POW's in Vietnam for the class. They will also remember Nixon playing politics with the war, Watergate, and Ford pardoning Nixon after his resignation.

Beautiful. The one thing they left out, neighborhood circuses to raise money for Jerry’s kids. Big fun and hilarious for everyone attending and performing!

The kid with the big Tonka truck looked like my oldest back then. I had 3 boys and they ran free and had a great time. Of course we lived outside the big city. This was life then, and it was glorious.

It was accurate and just perfect. My oldest sent me a text and said “how did they know what we were doing”? He loved it.
