On Monday, Florida changed its state welfare policy to exclude junk food from being purchased with SNAP funds.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is meant to help needy people buy food by using tax money to give them supplemental nutrition.
The state of Florida is not telling residents that they can't buy soda and ice cream with their own money. It's telling them they can't use money taken from other Floridians to buy those items. You are free to be morbidly obese on your own dime.

That said, if it’s going to happen, it comes with strings attached. If you don’t want someone telling you what you can and cannot *buy*, get a job and earn your own money to spend as you please.
IMO, the most people should get is WIC type coupons for REAL food.

Food "manufacturers" pay big money to lobbyists. Food stamps are supposed to be taxpayer subsidies to soft drink and junk food companies.
That is sickening...lots of junk food. Someone needed to be cut after TWO kids. Wonder how many baby daddys are involved? Now going to have 12 kids?

WOW. Per person it is not a huge sum when spread over 250mm people as it is about $400 per but with 1 in 7 on SNAP it works out to about 2800 per year per person if my back of the pad math is right of course.
It would be incorrect to say that all blacks are on SNAP, there are a good deal of others on it too. Since it is based on income, some on it should not be IMO.

The thing I found to be the most important is getting the “custard” just right. It’s easy to overcook it and have the eggs cook too much.
Once you have a base you can add whatever you want.
I made strawberry last week. I cooked down a bunch of strawberries with some sugar, strained the liquid to add to the base, and then added the remaining crushed strawberry hulls to the mix just at the end. Otherwise the fruit is too chunk and will freeze too hard.
When I want something like chocolate chips, I melt some good chocolate and it it into a piping bag and cut a small opening. Then I drizzle it into the mix during the last couple of minutes so it gets “mixed in” but not absorbed.
Then it goes into the containers and sits overnight.

Pretty sure as soon as her girls are of age, they will start getting pregnant as well. Easily pulling in tens of thousands of dollars a month - free housing, medical, food and everything else.
They come in and buy high dollar meats like lobster on their SNAP cards. Amazing what you can eat when someone else is having to pay for it.
No, she doesn’t. But, a high consumption of starches and sugars, along with grease and fats, will put her in the morgue much quicker, and get her off the dole... But, downside to that, is taxpayer funded treatment for heart failure and diabetes... If she starts to eat healthy, she will be a taxpayer burden for decades. No easy win here....
