"I formerly returned items for free dropoff at the nearest UPS store. But, they've changed it."

What changed? UPS no longer accepts drop offs?

I just dropped a return to Amazon today at my local UPS store. There were several people in line ahead of me. I noticed a guy who had come in before me, went over near the printers, and used a scanner so you can process the package yourself. You just let it scan the return symbol you printed up off Amazon, and it registers the package, prints the label, and gives you the option to get a receipt, and in what form you want it. I had it print a receipt for me. I was out quickly, while other people that were ahead of me when I first came in, were still standing in line to see a clerk. I never knew there was a scanner for your use until I saw another customer use it, so I went right over after he left and completed my return. I don't think any of the other people took notice of me doing it, and probably didn't realize that the self-serve scanner was even there.
