Mamdami is just a gifted con artist. He promises something for nothing, while siphoning of a significant chunk of the resources he can grab through taxes and graft.
It is the pattern everywhere in Socialist countries. It is not far off of what is done in feudal societies or monarchies or empires, but in those systems it is more open with less flimflam. Under Socialism, the state demands you bow down to them and profess belief in the flimflam.
In a capitalist society with limited government, the graft and taxes are somewhat limited, allowing more prosperity. Works best with Christian morals as a basis.
I forsee this being a massive make work lifetime employment boondoggle.
Like in the old days.. the best possible job you could ever get was Toll collector on the Mass Pike..
Union wages, Lieftime employment, Gov benefits, pensions...
A single grocery store could with Gov staffing could probably employ several hundred people.
Mamdani may be a gifted con artist, but be assured that he hasn’t foold everybody. His ideas so far have been pretty much dead ends. For those who voted for him...well, I guess that’s what they wanted or were not smart enough to see where it would all end up.
