Being gay is a sin. Do Christians sin? You better believe it. If a person has homosexual desires, but refuses to give in to them, then what? The devil tempts each person differently. I heard an evangelist preach many decades ago. He had been a homosexual, and had gotten saved. He was delivered from homosexual desires, went on to get married, but had zero heterosexual desire. He loved his wife, and prayed that the Lord would give him normal desires. Then one day, after a few years, the the Lord did just that. The Christian life is a struggle. And struggling Christians sure don’t need their sins to be affirmed, especially by a school that calls itself Christian.
Can gay people be saved? Sure. Is acting on gay impulses a sin? Sure. Does that mean permanent excommunication from God? No. Nor should they be barred from church services.
But that’s a far cry from acknowledging it to CELEBRATING it as is being done here.
We still condemn church leaders and pastors who commit adultery. There’s no “Christian swingers” club!
