“Diversity is our strength.”

I was in a Costco in a Seattle suburb to pick up eggs for my wife - she couldn’t find them in any stores. I grabbed my one item and headed to the line. We were right on the cusp of a snow/ice storm so the place was packed. Every counter had a line that extended 50 feet or so back through the aisles.
The guy in front of me had three large packages of chocolates, so I made some quip about our odd preparations for the storm.
He laughed, and said that he was traveling to visit his family in India, and they love American chocolate. We engaged in other conversation - his American English was remarkably good. He had gone to some university in the states. “I spent most of my spare time watching TV and cartoons - pretty sure that’s where I figured out how to speak American.”
I commented with all the people in the store it must remind him of India - being so crowded at all. He looked around “Well, in more ways than one!”
I looked out - it was most brown people that had crowded the store. “Oh yes - I can see that!”
I just wish that so many of them wouldn’t take their entire extended family, walk 5 people abreast, and stop at every food cart.
