they want to get a democrat into the top two choices in the california jungle primary. a number two choice would guarantee a democrat win. If republicans have the top two seats then a republicans are guaranteed a win. right now republicans have the top 2 spots.

Democrats need to bump more than one. They have like 7 in the race splitting the vote. Obviously they want Swalwell out, I assume Katie Porter will be next but we’ll see.

An added bonus with two Republicans on the top of the ticket will be deflated Dem turnout for the down-ballot races. Winning 48 of CA's 52 congressional seats is crucial for the Dems to take back the House.
Too many of these California Dem voters stay home because a Republican is going to win the governorship no matter what and it becomes a much taller order flipping the House.
