"Problem is this doesn’t solve Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz." It prevents Iran from allowing select customers (China) to continue to receive oil. It cuts off Iran from their revenue stream, and it incentivizes our "allies" to do their part for the oil they need. Since the US is not dependent of oil from this region, we can do this all week, and Sunday, too.
