It’s Dems who are pushing the allegations against Swalwell the most. Media wouldn’t be reporting on the issue without the okay of Democrats.

Democrats need to get Swalwell out so they can coalesce around Katie Porter. With Swalwell in the race there is a good chance the top 2 vote-getters in the primary will be two Republicans. They couldn’t push Porter out because that would be sexist.

The Dems throwing Swalwell under the bus to prevent two Republicans being the top vote-getters is going to send the message to other potential candidates that their own party will throw them under the bus in the worst way if necessary.

Which then means the party will get candidates who are less and less capable.

Throwing Swalwell under the bus is cashing a one-time chip.
