I gotta say this: while I 100% support this action against the Iran regime to stop their heinous crimes since taking over that country, I need to understand how we don’t already have total control over traffic through the Strait. How is it that this priority wasn’t dealt with by our military as one of the top priorities after taking out their offensive capabilities and ruining future military production?

About 3 weeks ago, Trump offered the United States to be the de facto insurance guarantor to the world for passage through this area... yet not only are we still allowing Iran to dictate passage rights, but some 3,300 vessels are sitting at anchor — paralyzed with fear because those terrorists are still in charge of this critical band of water.

This needs to be dealt with now — we need to possess the Strait of Hormuz.

It’s not just insurance but the lead time of new ship construction and damaged ship repair. Ship owners see long construction lead times and as a result are staying put.
