Kuntsler is good at getting g to the heart of it. I think Trump is at least partly agreeing to this ceasefire to give the two warring leadership factions in Iran time to duke it out so there’s someone with authority to cut a deal.
I also believe he is trying to publicly position himself as still trying to avoid continued war. But I believe we are positioning military elements and assets (IDF, USA, others, and the Persians, and other political factions) for the final overthrow of the mullahs. As soon as a major violation of the truce occurs by Iran ...a decisive war will happen.

Yes and the hard line IRGC is not abiding by the ceasefire and some IRGC that are moderates and IRGC that fled into Afghanistan and Pakistan seem to be having skirmishes.
Also at about 40 days in, Trump was getting close to the 60 day deadline for getting a formal congressional declaration of war. There is speculation that Trump could call the cease fire the end of military action and when Iran does not come to an agreement he would consider the 60-day clock to be reset.
