Here’s what I don’t get. They swing around the far side and have LOS (loss of signal) once they lose line-of-sight with the Earth.

My question: why is LOS even a thing in 2026? We have multiple birds orbiting ***Mars*** acting as comm relays but we never put any around the Moon? What is wrong with us?

The transmission is line-of-sight only, so when they can’t see the earth, they can’t communicate.

If I understand, they’re using some sort of laser signaling because it can transmit so much more data than old-school analog radio.

Hadn't really planned to go back to the moon until recently.
