Yet another way of pushing us to all automation so they can track and cancel easier. They sell us as easier and maybe even lower prices. It never does. I for one do like hard print item like event tickets and boarding passes. Phones fail or get damaged all the time. What if cell towers or wifi is down?
And when was the last time a piece of paper was hacked.
Same here. I may have the e-tickets and emails, but especially when I travel, I print every single confirmation or ticket. Computer glitches happen. Internet outages happen. A hard copy proof in hand, is the confirmation.
I absolutely hate it when a restaurant or bar gives me a QR code to scan rather than a hard copy menu. Though I have a phone that can do this, I resent being forced to have every aspect of life revolve around a cell phone 24x7. If they don’t give me a paper menu, I’ll find a different place to go. The same applies to supermarkets that are starting to replace prices on items with QR scan codes.
The dumbest thing I see is people boarding planes with boarding passes on their phones. I always have two sets of paper copies in different places.
“What if cell towers or wifi is down?”
It is loaded into your phone. Connectivity not required.
I’ve become neurotic about remaining battery on my phone. Battery runs out and you are screwed!
