I wish the ev fees were as high as what I have paid for my ice vehicles, AI notwithstanding.

“I wish the ev fees were as high as what I have paid for my ice vehicles, AI notwithstanding.”

We already pay more my guy. In Texas at least.

Look up the math is right there.

Now paying the equivalent to 63 cents per gallon in fuel costs that’s where I laugh all the way to the bank.

250wh/mile
9 cents retail power = 2.25 cents per mile

The Volvo S60 the Model 3 replaces used to get 28 mpg

2.25x28=63

Yeah gas must cost 63 cents or less to equal what the grid can put into my EV.

Oh and I have solar panels above it full paid for themselves and turn a profit every month the real cost is the loss in power sales I don’t buy power from the grid I sell to it every month. That’s why I charge at noon when solar is ripping and it’s only selling for $10 per megawatt hour I get 1 cent per kWh power then while also charging my powerwall. Then at sunset when gas turbines have to come on and they set the minimum prices by fuel costs being $50 per megawatt hour alone and the rate is $100 per megawatt hour I dump all the stored power my grid tie will take for a tidy profit. From 8 till 10 is the peak of the ducks back and w ever PAID for it. My Tesla is essentially free miles every mile in energy costs.

Oh an the sweet part is my Tesla was $20,000 less than the Volvo $37k vs 58k so from mile one cheaper ha love it all praises be unto Elon.
