I have studied history. I have also fought in infantry combat and killed and seen my friends killed. I spent 7 months in the hospital recovering from wounds.
Combat is not the clean, antiseptic thing we have portrayed it to have become. It’s still horrific, and sleepless, and being filthy and unshowered and shitting in hastily-dug holes.
Women are not the same physically as men, and war is very physical. Young men and young women in the same unit form couples and the their allegiance is to their partners, not to he unit - and unit cohesion is critical to succeeding in your mission and your survival.
A combat unit is not a social experiment or a Petri dish. Warfare is now and always will be exactly like Belleau Wood and Wake Island and Normandy and Iwo Jima and Hue City and Fellujah.
Any country dumb enough to mix men and women in its units, loses its wars - and its future.
Tell that to the Russians, or the Norwegians. Whether you like it or not, women are going to fight.
