What England needs is another Oliver Cromwell who would know how to handle a king named Charles.
Charles swore an oath and was crowned in Westminster Abbey in 2023. He’s recently been reminded of this by clerical communication— yet he still acts as other than Christian, much less Anglican.
The ceremony was structured around a Church of England service of Holy Communion. Charles taking an oath, being anointed with holy oil, and receiving the coronation regalia, emphasizing his spiritual role and secular responsibilities.Representatives of the Church of England and the British royal family declared their allegiance to him, and people throughout the Commonwealth realms were invited to do so (but, did they all?).
He continues in this fashion, insulting the highest Christian Holy Day, and he and Camilla may be forced to abdicate (Starmer won’t insist, but Farage might), like Edward VIII! Then steps in William & Kate.
Charles has always struck many as being a fake, and a loser- at least in the US he has, but not as much so as Harry and sparkling obsidian Markle.
Everything went downhill with the death of Elizabeth, who was quite remarkable.
I have never seen many positive remarks about Charles on FR. I know I have always expressed extreme dislike for that leftist turd in the punchbowl.
But he’ll celebrate Ramadan.
Charles celebrates every Muslim event.
I wouldn’t be too sure of that. William recently stated his faith is not traditional (some words to that effect). He’s agnostic at best.
I was in England 20 years ago and even then, it was a noticeably atheistic society. All the big churches we visited were museums and when we went to services it was apparent the others there were also foreigners.
It’s a mix.
Last time I was there was 2014 for a few weeks.
We attended St Martins in the Fields off Trafalgar Square for several Sundays. And it was pretty full, of actual English people, and there was a group confirmation one Sunday with a lot of City types.
But the statistics show overall church attendance very low.
Britain hasn't had a Christian monarch since Henry VII in 1509. (Some could argue Henry VIII was the last although his intentions would be suspicious based on his later behavior).
I would argue that point with you. IMHO, Britain hasn't had a legal monarch of any description since Richard III was killed.
More signs of the death of Britainia. What happened to that cancer Charles supossedly has?
At best he’s a Muslim sympathizer, if not an outright Muslim.
I bet he sees nothing wrong with what his brother, Andrew, did with Epstein, and only did what he did due to public polls and to save his own skin.
King of England’s job duties include being Defender of the (Anglican) faith.
Even this king’s previously-stated wish that the job description be rewritten to “Defender of (all) Faith(s)....
(no such change has been made)....
even that wish would leave the king’s job duties abrogated by his failure to issue even a quickie one-line proclamation that it is Easter time.
I personally would support his previously-stated wish — or the complete separation of kingly duties from being defender of religion ... better imho given the history of England (and several other nations). But nobody’s asked me for my preferences. They don’t count at all. And if he wants to stay kind he really should at least say “Happy Easter” as an respectful accommodation to those remaining Christians in UK... that wouldn’t hurt him one whit.

If you mean a Catholic, Mary I and James II were definitely Catholics.
he and Camilla went to Maundy Thursday services.
