There are some absolutely brilliant, successful people who were too impatient at the thought of sitting for four more years in school rather just just getting out and start doing things. In most cases, they were right.

There are some things where the necessary learning requires additional formal schooling - usually things that require advanced technical/professional or scientific knowledge. But that isn't most of college any more.
